Rottenswap Cross-Chain Guide
A guide to farming with ROT and MAGGOT on Harmony via VenomDao.
The Rottenswap Admin team, in partnership with VenomDAO and Harmony, are pleased to announce the launch of 3 new pools on the Harmony blockchain via harmony.one/dex
Beta testing of $ROT on Harmony has been a 3 week process. To ensure contract security and deflation, the ROT contract was deployed custom from the Harmony bridge contract. There is a multisig with Rottenswap admins, in case other changes/updates are required later. The ROT MasterChef contract (mints ROT) is NOT deployed on Harmony. Props to Ganesha Upadhyaya from the Harmony One team and 0xViper from VenomDAO for their support and assistance throughout the testing process.
Farming Guide:
Please proceed with caution! Farming between blockchains is volatile, and pools are seeded by users. Prices may not be the same for ROT and MAGGOT on Ethereum vs Harmony. VenomDAO and ROTTENSWAP are not responsible for any losses you may incur during this process, which is currently in testing to gather user feedback.
VenomDAO is a fork of Sushi / BAO. 5% of the VIPER farmed is immediately available, and 95% begins unlocking on December 25, 2021. See their medium article for more details, and remember to use 3% slippage or more on $ROT transactions due to the burn.
ROTTENSWAP’s partnership with VenomDAO provides the first opportunity for deflation-free farming in the ROTTENSWAP ecosystem, when pairing 1MAGGOT with VIPER to earn VIPER rewards.
Note: ROTTENSWAP DOT ORG, VenomDAO, and Harmony admins + team will NEVER ask you for your 12 word seed phrase, passwords, 2FA codes or any personal information at ANY TIME for ANY REASON! Beware of scammers posing as support staff.
Bridging your tokens:
- ROT and MAGGOT can be bridged to Harmony via bridge.harmony.one, and there are 2 approval transactions required to do this, paid in $ETH
Requirements:
- Metamask, and/or the Harmony One Chrome Extension. You can use Metamask for both wallets if you toggle it at the correct step. (see guide)
- Harmony ONE token for transaction fees
- Ethereum for transaction fees

Back end details:

- When bridged, ERC20 ROT is locked into the Harmony bridge contract, and equivalent HRC20 1ROT is minted 1:0.975, since 2.5% of it is burned during the transaction for MAGGOT
- ROT cannot be minted on ONE, but can be redeemed for ERC20 ROT via the Harmony bridge.
- The MAGGOT minter is functional on ONE, as 2.5% of ROT is burned per transaction, minting 1MAGGOT. These tokens cannot be redeemed for ERC20 MAGGOT unless bridged ERC20 MAGGOT is available for the exchange. The ROTTENSWAP admin team has ported over 500k MAGGOT to establish a sizeable ROT / MAGGOT pool for exchange purposes.
Known issues found in testing:
- Latency: VenomDAO’s UI attempts to pull data from Harmony RPCs, and there can be short delays in populating balances, farm rewards, and token holdings. Give the website some time to load.
- UX: Adding Liquidity can result in the logos of the tokens overlaying the text.
- Users are seeing old 1ROT pools — please clear cache/cookies to see the correct pools.
- Very few users purchased 1ROT prior to 3/31/2021. They were asked to bridge back or redeem. Please bridge back to Ethereum or use the small existing pool to redeem old tokens. You cannot bridge old 1ROT to new 1ROT on Harmony directly.

Q: Why is my transaction failing?
A: Make sure to use 2.5% slippage in addition to the recommended price impact %
Q: What is this MAGGOT token?
A: 2.5% of your ROT is burned per transaction for MAGGOT. You can stake MAGGOT with VIPER and earn VIPER, hold, or sell into the MAGGOT/ROT pool.
