An unreleased version of the original Chef Nomi graphic, created by BTC_Minimalist in the fall of 2020.
Flipped Trippy Billy
A flipped version of psychadelic Billy Bob Buttcrack, created by Jeoi Reqi using diabolical AI techniques for the 2021 Halloween Rottenswap drop. The token was never released, and now Rotten degens can mint to their hearts delight.
Pepe Zombie Chef
David Palmer’s original video of the Rotten Chef was so bad it was good, and artists were able to grab tons of content from the screenshots alone. Pepe Zombie Chef by Jeoi Reqi is arguably one of the most iconic images in ROTTENSWAP history. It was originally minted on Mintable on the Zilliqa blockchain, but never sold.
Exclusive 1/1s — GOD OF MARS
If you hold a Gentleman’s club token from the 2021 Halloween airdrop, you can DM CryptoHydrate to redeem an exclusive 1/1 GOD OF MARS variation, or an OG ROT NFT from the CryptoHydrate collection of your choosing.

Rotten Token collection — October 2020
BTC_Minimalist mints on admin wallet with Raulito, which is later stolen. The NFTs created by BTC_Minimalist in this collection will all eventually be re-skinned and re-released.
The Tim Templeton Collection — October 2020
$Defimaster created two works for Rottenswap in October 2020, an ode to the release of the Bloody token, and an Andre Cronje rug masterpiece pictured below.
CryptoHydrate — October 2020
The first NFT contract minted on Cargo by CryptoHydrate on October 11, 2020, containing the first collaboration between BTC_Minimalist and CryptoHydrate. This contract also contains “BTC, Reborn” by David Lim, a tribute to the many times BTC has “died” and risen again.

Created on October 23, 2022, these 29 tokens were designed by Rottenswap admin manonthemoon, minted by CryptoHydrate and distributed to admins, artists and community members.

David Palmer Rottenswap Videos — October to December 2021
The “King of the Divs,” David Palmer was known in the DeFi community for helping shitty projects and making promotional materials for them. Palmer made several videos for Rottenswap, portraying several characters including the Zombie Chef, Billy Bob Buttcrack and Blackbeard Willy, later serving as inspiration for artists to create additional Rottenswap lore, using various screenshots from the videos.
Rottenswap on Zilliqa — Winter 2021
Created on Zilliqa’s Mintable App, the Rottenswap collection on Zilliqa featured NFTs from 3 artists:
- Jeoi Reqi, creating Pepe Chef and fud cat variations of the Russian sticker often used by ex fudmin Rewlboy
- Byron Scott, the creator of the Hydrate Labs logo, who created 3 works and scored a sale!
- D-Ink Art with HEADZ UP.
Rottenswap V2 — April to October 2021
Minted on CryptoHydrate’s first Polygon contract created in April of 2021, the Rottenswap Halloween 2021 featured 110 NFTs from 4 different artists.
- Hahawomanchild: She created Rottie and various variations. 5 of these NFTs, the first created on the contract, were minted in April of 2021.
- Jeoi Reqi: One of Rottenswap’s most loyal artists, he created several AI variations of screenshots from David Palmer’s characters.
- BTC_Minimalist: Created the Mark Cuban variations and Alec Baldwin Glengarry Glenross tribute variations.
- Alina Grozav: 20 original works including the Rotting Mondrian.
What was Rottenswap?
During the fall of 2020, Sushiswap did a vampire attack on Uniswap, causing over 1 billion dollars worth of liquidity to be drained from the protocol. As is the case after any successful crypto project, many clones of Sushiswap began to pop up. Tim Templeton released Rottenswap in fall 2020, a yield farm token with no pre-mine, with pools similar to Sushiswap which would yield Rottentoken in exchange for staked liquidity. CryptoHydrate joined the Rottenswap team as an administrator in late September 2020, and began exploring community building on DeFi. Templeton later created a project called SAV3, which was an attempt at creating a decentralized social media platform built on IPFS. He disappeared shortly after its release in February of 2021, returning briefly in summer of 2021 to warn CryptoHydrate about the possibility of Harmony’s bridge being hacked. Rottenswap was bridged to their blockchain after the community requested a fee-free trading solution.
Tim actually turned out to be right, and the Harmony bridge was hacked in June of 2022. Luckily, ROT was already worthless and the funds locked in the bridge were not transferred out and sold.
What’s happening with the Rotten Token?
Templeton returned again in summer 2022 to remove the telegram channels and whitelist bot. Due to the ghosting and lack of contract renunciation, users are urged to revoke ROT and not use the token. Tim also used Tornado cash to drain funds from the SAV3 dev fund, sending them to exchange FixedFloat.

Tim rugged maggot by not coding Horsefly and instead making SAV3. Hydrate never forgets. Anyone who is able to reveal the true identity of Tim Templeton, and coerce him into coding the Horsefly token, fulfilling his promise for maggot token development made in the original medium article, will receive a sizeable reward. Just kidding, the project is dead.
